When should Alzheimer’s patients stop driving? 09 April 2009

University of Iowa researcher Dr. Jeffery Dawson drives an instrumented Nissan Infinity Q 45 called NIRVANA in Iowa City, Iowa. NIRVANA is a special vehicle used to predict safe and unsafe driving abilities in elderly drivers, including those with cognitive deficits due to Alzhemier's disease and stroke. Scientists are creating tests to show when it's time for people with early Alzheimer's disease to stop driving.
